A renovation that breathes new life into an industrial space, fusing modern design with bold brand identity to create a dynamic, customer-focused experience
Design Brief
The Edmond Hyundai renovation transformed an existing metal building into a refreshed, brand-aligned facility that meets the evolving expectations of today’s customers. The remodel included a new showroom, upgrades to the service operations, and the addition of a new car wash, all while navigating the inherent challenges of integrating Hyundai’s modern brand aesthetic into the structure of an existing industrial shell.
Central to the design was the seamless application of Hyundai’s current brand standards—both inside and out.
The exterior was reimagined with a new bronze-toned aluminum composite metal (ACM) panel system featuring Hyundai’s signature Terra element, a sculpted front facade that evokes forms found in natural earth and terrain. This distinctive finish brought strong visual identity to the building and firmly rooted it in the Hyundai brand.
The building envelope incorporates a hybrid of EIFS and curtainwall systems, utilizing a structural silicone glazing (SSG) joint system for a clean, contemporary aesthetic. A new integrated vestibule was added not only to enhance energy performance and user safety but also to provide a more welcoming, weather-protected entry—a nonstandard feature that required precise integration with the existing structure.
Inside, Hyundai’s branding continues to guide every material and layout decision. From signage and finishes to lighting and customer flow, the renovated space now delivers a cohesive, modern retail and service experience. The challenge of marrying new identity-driven elements with an older building was met through careful material selection, precise detailing, and a commitment to honoring the brand at every level.
Ultimately, the renovation successfully elevates the Edmond Hyundai dealership into a contemporary, customer-focused facility—one that fully reflects Hyundai’s evolving identity while making the most of its original footprint.
