Design Brief

Located along Lincoln Boulevard in Oklahoma City, the new Oklahoma Federal Credit Union Headquarters establishes a strong visual presence and serves as a defining symbol for the brand. Spanning 5,000 square feet across two floors, the building embodies transparency, warmth, and strength—qualities that reflect OFCU’s values and its commitment to members.

Positioned in close proximity to the existing OFCU building, the new headquarters creates a sense of continuity and connection across the site, extending the Credit Union’s presence along the Lincoln corridor. The design aligns with the Lincoln District design standards while complementing the surrounding context.

The material palette combines concrete, wood, and cool metal tones—paired with natural light and clear sightlines to connect interior activity with the broader passing community. The building features executive offices, a 15-seat boardroom, a team breakroom, and dedicated space for a mobile banking unit. The interior palette is grounded in OFCU’s signature blue and enriched with warm greys, natural textures, and dark accents to create a professional yet inviting atmosphere. Full-height storefront glass offices on the second floor overlook the double-height breakroom and lounge below, establishing a clear visual connection between the two levels.

A key design and construction challenge involved integrating mechanical and electrical systems within walls heavily reinforced by structural steel. The design team worked closely with Willowbrook Construction and CEC to develop efficient solutions without compromising the building’s architectural integrity.

Custom details—such as metal-wrapped exterior beams/columns and wood-clad interior beams and columns reinforce the balance between durability and approachability. With furnishings by KI Wall, ceilings by RedBud Architectural Systems, and glasswork by Knox Glass, every element supports the Credit Union’s mission of transparency and trust.

The completed project will continue to strengthen the Lincoln corridor while expressing OFCU’s forward-looking identity and enduring connection to its roots.
